What are some of your favorite things about Train P3?
The best thing about Train P3 is the movements aren’t boring. Treadmills and weight lifting can feel monotonous, especially after a long day of work, I can’t deal with the tedium. Everytime I come to Train P3 it feels creative. When I was lifting weights I would walk out so sore and not feeling very athletic. It would always make me laugh thinking about how after a heavy lifting session I was so stiff an old lady could’ve knocked me over. If anyone needed help I would’ve had to say, “sorry my hammies are too tight.” I always walk out of Train P3 feeling more capable and more sure of myself just moving around in the world.
The other thing that makes the classes so great is the attitude Nerijus fosters in class. When I was younger I don’t think I could’ve understood how you could get in shape without being competitive. Going to the group classes is amazing. You’re surrounded by really fit people who want you to do well. It works way better than someone screaming at you.
How is Train P3 helping you improve as an athlete, in life or any other way?
I’m not a natural mover by any means, learning coordinated movements for me doesn’t always come easy. But the year and a half I spent in Train P3 has made it better. Moving left arm and right foot at the same time doesn’t make my brain hurt anymore. I’m still not the quickest learner, but it’s gotten a little better which to me is a huge improvement.
Do you have any advice for people who want to start Train P3?
Just start. Come and stay consistent even if you think you suck. I think consistency leads to excellence more often than perfection. Also be okay with sucking. It’s the quickest way to learn. If you can truly embrace sucking it’s an amazing thing. Those are the two things from TrainP3 I try and take most into the world: be okay with sucking, and if you stay consistent it will get better.
